Nevertheless, he still took a shot at the job, and almost immediately, he was thrown into a battle with the Flag Smashers. Following their deaths, Walker went into a rage, killing every member and putting him on a path that cost him the shield. However, fans of the comics know that this paralleled a moment in the Captain America comic series where Walker's parents were murdered by a radical terrorist group known as the Watchdogs.
